James Patterson, New York Times best selling author and literacy advocate, will be the guest speaker at the Library Foundation’s 6th Annual Author Luncheon on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. This year, we will gather at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, at 11:30 am. A special reception with James Patterson for sponsors of $6,000 and more will precede the luncheon. We welcome the Community Foundation of Sarasota County as our 2018 Luncheon Sponsor and Bookstore1 as our Reception Sponsor.

James Patterson makes very few public appearances so we are very excited to host him for the first time in Sarasota. Patterson holds the New York Times and Guinness World Records for the most books listed at #1 on the NY Times Best Seller list -67!! Patterson is writing his next novel in collaboration with former President Bill Clinton, scheduled for publication in June 2018.

Patterson is as passionate about kids and reading as we are at the Library Foundation. He has authored many children’s books including the Middle School and I, Funny series which delighted his son as he grew up. He created a wonderful web site to help kids and parents find good books to read at readkiddoread.com.

The annual author luncheon is the Library Foundation’s only fundraiser.  In just 5 short years, net proceeds of the luncheon have helped us grow into a strong, financially sound organization dedicated to securing the future of our Sarasota County libraries.   We hope you will join us for the James Patterson luncheon.  You can reserve sponsored tables by clicking here or individual tickets ($125 Supporter and $175 Patron), below.  For questions, please contact Kim Noyes at 941-228-6274 or events@sarasotalibraryfoundation.org.
