Be a Hero… Bring More Resources to our Sarasota County Libraries!

The facts

• 73% of Americans read a book in the last year
• 65% read a print book
• 28% read an e-book
• 14% listened to an audiobook.*

Libraries today must provide books in all these formats to meet the needs of their users. *Pew Research Center, 2016

The challenge

Sarasota County libraries do not have sufficient tax dollars to meet the currendemand for e-books and audiobooks.Long wait times (sometimes months!) are common for patrons who reserve current bestsellers. Children often cannot download the books they need for school assignments.

The solution

The Library Foundation for Sarasota County has launched a Digital Resources Campaign to raise $200,000 in new private contributions to provide a one-time gift of new digital resources to our libraries. This will enable our libraries to add nearly 8,000 new e-books, audiobooks and databases to the online collection.

How can you help?

Be a hero! Bring more digital resources to our libraries!

• Your gift of $25 will buy one new e-book for our online collection
• Your gift of $250 will provide 10 new audiobooks for our online collection
• Your gift of $2,500 will provide new databases of magazines, journals and music to download
