Congratulations to the Rock the Shelf award winners! The Library Foundation is honored to sponsor these awards, which recognize outstanding contributions by library employees. This year, we celebrate the accomplishments of Collection Development Manager Tyra Keating, who willingly took on multiple roles with unwavering commitment and great attention to detail. The team award went to the ten-member staff of the Shannon Staub Library for their heroic efforts serving as a Sarasota County Disaster Recovery Center. For 3 months, this dedicated team worked 12-hour shifts helping our community with federal assistance, disaster loans, and recovery resources in the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Ian. The Foundation is delighted to present each award winner with a grant toward continued professional development!

We had a great time celebrating Selby's 25th anniversary. Sarasota County Commissioners Ron Cutsinger and Mark Smith joined library lovers from all over the county to pay tribute to this amazing community resource. Selby's legacy began in 1907 when the Ladies' Town Improvement Society opened a small library room at the corner of Main Street and Pineapple Avenue.
Great communities deserve great libraries.
