Why I serve
Since childhood, libraries have been both my quiet oasis and a gateway to new worlds. They’re inclusive gathering places that provide essential services, and I feel lucky to be able to support their vital role in our community.
A New Jersey transplant, Kate Schwartz has called Sarasota home for more than twenty years. She earned her BA in English from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Kate has held positions in public relations, marketing, and real estate, and most recently served as chief content writer for an international event management company. A life-long reader and library patron who is passionate about community outreach, she is thrilled to work on behalf of Sarasota’s libraries.
