Why I Serve:
Libraries have always provided a sanctuary for me. I can remember the exact shelves where I took down the books that would change my life. My hope is to offer that same opportunity to as many people as possible while also fostering strong communities in Sarasota.
Mark is a writer and editor who has lived in Sarasota for thirty years. A native of Buffalo, he has taught composition at State College of Florida and creative writing at The Ohio State University. Since 2018, he has served as contributing editor for Story Magazine. Mark is a frequent patron of Selby and Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Libraries and is currently wearing through his third library card.
