View this email in your browser Mark Your Calendars for the  2022 Giving Challenge April 26-27, Noon-Noon The 24-hour Giving Challenge presented by The Community Foundation of Sarasota County returns to our community April 26-27. The Patterson Foundation will once again strengthen giving with a generous 1:1 match on all donations up to $100 per individual donor. This is the perfect opportunity to show your love for our libraries by making a gift to the Library Foundation for Sarasota County. Our Advocacy Efforts Make a Difference! The Board of County Commissioners recently voted to dedicate $1 million of surtax funding to increase the library’s collection of books and materials.  This is wonderful news and will help our library system meet the increasing needs of our growing community.  A big Thank You to all our Community Advocacy Team members who asked our commissioners to consider more funding for collections. Please thank the commissioners if you see them, and be sure to vote “Yes” on the surtax proposal in November to make sure our libraries receive this extra support. National Library Week April 3-9 We know Sarasota has one of the best library systems in the country, with truly amazing staff.  As a small thank-you, the Library Foundation was delighted to provide lunch to all the library staff during National Library Week.  Thanks to everyone in our library system for working  so hard to ensure our community has the books, information and technology we need. Leaders Circle Leaders Circle members play an active role in advancing the goals of our library system. Their generous annual gifts provide the additional resources needed for new technologies and innovative programs, helping to ensure the library reaches everyone in the community. The Library Foundation thanks these donors for their partnership and support in securing the future of our libraries.
